Dear friends,

Nepalese Association of Surgical Gastroenterology(NASG) has completed its 9 years of establishment. During this period, it has seen many ups and downs including the effect of COVID-19. Throughout this period, the enthusiasm of the members has rather increased which was observed as overwhelming participation during the last election. The credit goes to all the valued members and the hard work of past executives.

Surgical gastroenterology has not only been established as a well-known speciality but rather has developed as a big forum with many branches of sub-specialities like upper Gastrointestinal, Hepato-biliary, pancreatic, colo-proctology and many more because of the advancement of technology and increasing depth of knowledge. NASG helps to unite the members to be organized in an an excellent platform where all of us can come forward to share our clinical knowledge, skill and research

experience which will be beneficial in the patient care and management. This website would serve as a resource for its members and non-members to be in constant touch with society.

Dear members, the recent pandemic has taught us the diversified use of virtual technology in academics, importance of developing and nurturing local technology and the need for independence in healthcare facility within its own country. With the active participation of its members, NASG is can serve as an important medium for the betterment, uplifting and advancement of the Gastrointestinal(GI) surgical facility in the country.

I sincerely would like to welcome all the practicing GI surgeons to be the member of this association for mutual professional development, to provide standard evidence-based GI surgical service and to move the society forward. I will also like to request all the national and international well-wishers to continue their support to the society.
