The Indian Chapter of International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA-IC) and Nepalese Association of Surgical Gastroenterology (NASG) jointly announces its first “IHPBA India- NASG Fellowship”. It is a unique opportunity for Nepalese surgeons to be trained in prestigious high volume Surgical centers in India under the aegis of Indian Chapter of IHPBA. The fellowship offered for the year 2025 is a One-year fellowship in Hepatobiliary surgery and Liver Transplantation at Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad, India.

Eligible to apply for a license by the State Medical Council in India (Host institute offering fellowship will assist with the administrative requirements) No Objection letter from Nepal Medical Council |
Academic criteria |
· Preferably more than 3 years post MS General surgery (NMC certified) Or more than 1-year post MCh. GI surgery/HPB Surgery (NMC certified) · Job Holder in a NMC recognized hospital in Nepal · Two Letters of Recommendation from surgeons |
Application Process
- Complete the Application form
- Create a SINGLE PDF (Combine everything in one PDF) with the following documents (in this order) and label it “Your fullname”
- Citizenship
- Photo of a Valid Passport
- Latest CV/resume
- NMC specialist registration
- Academic transcripts (SLC/SEE, MBBS, MS/ MCh)
- Work Experience letter
- Two letters of recommendation from 2 different Nepali surgeon, at least one from the Department of Surgery presently associated with.
- Letter from the affiliated institute stating continuation of job after fellowship
- An essay on “Why should you be selected for this fellowship?” in 200
- Email the completed Application form and the documents PDF to fellowshipNASG@gmail.com with the title “HB-LT Fellowship 2024”
Selection Process
- All complete applications with eligible candidates will be accepted for selection process
- IHPBA-IC and NASG will jointly select the candidate
- NASG will announce and notify the selected candidate
- The selected candidate will complete the council clearance procedure in coordination with NASG and the host institute in respective councils.
- Commencement of fellowship
Completion Process
IHPBA-IC and NASG will grant completion of fellowship upon submission of the following:
- Completion certificate from the host institute offering the fellowship
- Duly filled assessment form by the host institute
- Submission of log book
